Realistic trauma makeup and SFX effects created for close-up performance and emotional storytelling.
Overview
Working closely with the production team, we translated script requirements into practical special effects that supported both narrative intensity and visual authenticity. Each makeup decision was shaped by the emotional tone of the scene, the camera distance, and the need for continuity across shooting days, ensuring the injuries felt believable without distracting from the actor’s performance.

We created custom SFX makeup and prosthetic elements tailored to the actor’s facial structure. The process focused on layering textures, colors, and materials to replicate realistic trauma, including broken skin, blood flow, and discoloration. Each stage was designed to achieve high realism in film makeup effects while maintaining flexibility for on-set adjustments.
The final effect delivered highly realistic facial trauma makeup that enhanced the emotional weight of the scenes and integrated seamlessly with the actor’s performance and camera work. By controlling texture, color intensity, and injury progression on set, we ensured the makeup remained consistent across shots while still feeling natural, raw, and emotionally credible.
