Overview
Working closely with the production team, we translated the physical consequences of professional boxing into practical makeup effects that felt authentic on camera. The work included bruising, swelling, cuts, stitched wounds, and progressive injury stages designed to reflect the intensity of training sessions and championship fights while maintaining historical and visual credibility.
The project required detailed research into the appearance and healing process of sports-related injuries. By combining prosthetic appliances, painting techniques, and subtle texture work, we created effects that evolved naturally throughout the story. Particular attention was given to continuity, ensuring that each stage of damage accurately matched the narrative timeline and production schedule.
Our team handled daily applications, touch-ups, continuity supervision, and adjustments between takes to ensure every injury remained visually accurate under changing lighting conditions and camera angles. The final makeup effects enhanced the realism of the boxing sequences while supporting the performances and emotional journey of the characters.
